Fall Poem #12

it was that kind of day
i should have writ a poem about
i should have strolled
golden sunshined through
crunch leafy paths amid trees
not quite in full color
me khakied and
sweat shirted
almost camouflaged
thinking deep thoughts
casually

i should have written
that poem
not this one

Overheard on an Airplane

(well the first stanza)

...and jeffery doesn't  mind?
yeah she is kind
fussy
nervous
neurotic

she is a
worrywart
paranoid
controlliong
self-centered
cries at the drop of a pin

but other than that
quite a lovely soul

Cold Watermelon

they used to cool them
picnicking on sundays
in mountain streams
cold still from the winter
snow capped memories
in a bowl next to the
watermelon in the fridge

Waiting for Rick

starbucking
johnny cash streaming in
singing a bob dylan

 late spring early summer
gorgeous prairie day
 thinking about old friends
 facebook does that to you

thinking about task lists
piling up faster than the
 processing thereof

 not really caring too much
just how prosey this poem is

taking it all in stride on a day
like this this bee you tee full day
at least 'til the first cloud rolls in
but perfection is like that
moments of pure bliss
and poof...
less blissful
less perfect
but still good

Poem 2012030202

mediocrity
blasé writing
mediocre teaching
two bit philosopher
so-so musician
dilettante scholar
average speaker
decent friend
ho-hum poet
arm chair psychologist
eh... cyclist

 jack of all
bator of none
yet kinda
renaissance-ish

poem 20120300201

a deep sleepiness
a late winter joy
a mid-afternoon
post lunch
would rather sleep
than listen to him talk
or her sing

 napping now
i should wake in time
to watch six CSIs
